Our Meeting Point

Ticking clock,
Loud breath,
Heartbeats,
Wet eyes
Stare at the door to open,
Waiting for my saviour
To emerge
And save me from –
An empty room of solitude,
And a heart ache.
What’s a few more days,
When you have waited a lifetime?
Every hour
Grieves your painful absence,
And curses the time spent without you.
These empty arms yearn
For your potent embrace
To smother me back to life
Through reassuring whispers of love.
This half covets your half,
To become one
And be complete,
And this rock to fully submerge
In the sea of your warmth
And be called yours.
This lonely life wishes
For your comforting company
For your disarming laugh
To resound through its empty halls
These patient eyes
Wait with impatience
To revel in the gift
Of your presence.
Let these days,
Crumble into seconds,
So we could meet sooner
At the juncture
Where life begins.
